Abstract
Present investigation was conducted in Department of Seed Technology, R.B.S. College, Agra. The effect of different concentrations of Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) on different early seedling growth parameters such as germination percentage, Plumule & Radicle length in Cicer arietinum seeds was studied. The sample contains three different varieties i.e. RBC 200, KWR and KVE. The untreated seed worked as control. The seeds were purchased from I.A.R.I., New Delhi. Healthy and uniform seeds of Cicer arietinum were selected. Seeds were first sterilized with 0.1% mercuric chloride and then rinsed with distilled water to remove traces of mercuric chloride. There different concentrations of Naphthalene Acetic Acid were prepared in 10%, 20% and 50%. We carry out the investigation in four treatments out of which three are treatments and the fourth one is control i.e., untreated seeds (soaked in distilled water). It was observed that variety RBC 200 is the best performer under all the treatments investigated which is proved by the data on the all growth parameters studied.
