Abstract

Present investigation was conducted in Department of Seed Technology, R.B.S. College, Agra. The effect of different concentrations of Cytokinin on various growth parameters such as germination percentage, Plumule & Radicle length in Triticum aestivum seeds was studied. The sample contains three different varieties i.e. KVK, HD-2967 and PVW-343. The untreated seed worked as control. The seeds were purchased from I.A.R.I., New Delhi. Healthy and uniform seeds of Triticum aestivum were selected. Seeds were first sterilized with 0.1% mercuric chloride and then rinsed with distilled water to remove traces of mercuric chloride. There different concentrations of Cytokinin were prepared in 10%, 20% and 50%. We carry out the investigation in four treatments out of which three are treatments and the fourth one is control i.e., untreated seeds (soaked in distilled water). It was observed that variety PBW 343 is the best performer under all the treatments investigated which is proved by the data on the all growth parameters studied.
