Determination of Genetic Variability & Some Biochemical Traits in Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) Genotypes
Main Article Content
Abstract
Sesamum indicum is one of the most important ancient oil crops in the world. In fact, this plant, in particular its seeds, is used for food, medicinal and industrial purposes. The data recorded on eight quantitative and qualitative characters were utilized for estimation of mean, range, coefficient of variation, correlation and path coefficient analysis This article provides an evaluation of the biochemical composition, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of dehulled sesame seeds Sesamum indicum. Based on per se performances TKG-22(NC), DS-19-51, JLS-710, SKT-1501 and MT-2017-11 are found high yielding promising varieties and possess good percent of oil content among all varieties of sesame in the area of Chitrakoot.
