Effect of age of stecklings, spacing and plant growth regulators on the seed yield of radish (Raphanussativus L.)

Abstract
The present investigation was conducted at Vegetable experimental Farm –II, Division of Vegetable science and Floriculture SKUAST-Jammu for the two consecutive years 2013-14 and 2014-15.The investigation involved age of stecklings (70 days and 85 days old ), spacing combinations (60x60 cm and 90x90 cm ) and three levels of growth regulators GA3 and NAA each with one control as water spray. Maximum number of primary branches (12.20), plant spread (104.81), number of siliqua per plant (848.24), length of siliqua (4.45) were recorded with 70 days old stecklings. The spacing combination of 90x90 cm affected most of the characters like number of primary branches (11.90), plant spread (104.85), number of siliqua per plant (832.67), seed yield per plant (55.23). However, highest seed yield per hectare (13.94) was observed at 60x60 cm spacing. Maximum number of primary branches (14.12), plant height (121.78), number of siliqua per plant (861.98), number of seeds in siliqua (6.96), seed yield per plant (59.19), seed yield per hectare (11.72) were recorded with the plant growth regulator GA3 @ 200 ppm followed by NAA @ 100 ppm.
