Assessment of Awareness level of Green Building Concept among Residential people of Udhamsingh Nagar

Abstract

Human activities are root cause of environmental issues. Construction activity is one of them which is using large amount of resources and harassing the environment. For the sustainable development there is need of approach benefiting the environment and reducing the impact of environment. Green building concept is one of alternative for construction industry to adopt sustainable approach. This concept is blooming now days in every country. So objective of this study was to assess the awareness level of green building concept and its features among residential people of udhamsinghnagar district of uttarakhand. For conducting the survey 3 point likert scale was developed and analysis is done through finding out the overall extent of awareness level of respondent regarding green building concept. For statistical analysis frequency, percentage and chi square test were used with the help of SPSS software. Result showed that female was having low awareness compare to the male. Whereas education and income variables having significant influence on awareness level. It was recommended that government should developed rules and regulations to encourage.
