Effect of TLR6 gene polymorphism on body weight at birth
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current study deals with the effect of TLR6 gene polymorphism and its relationship with effect on body weight at birth. A total of forty-eight pigs were taken and the polymorphism of TLR6 gene by SSCP was seen. Response to sheep RBC through HA titre was seen and the effect of genetic groups and HA titre along with TLR6 gene polymorphism on the body weight at birth was analysed using SPAB software. Effect was significant for TLR6-1 and TLR6-7 and was non -significant for all other factors. For TLR6-1, haplotype D had the highest value of 01.365 ± 00.1960 kg. and haplotype F had the lowest value of 01.027± 00.1492 kg. Haplotype D had the maximum value of 01.621 00.1587 kg. and 00.916 00.1301kg. was the lowest value found for TLR6-7. Further study could help to establish that there might be indirect (if not direct) relationship between polymorphism coupled with other factors with body weight at birth.
