Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Farm of Raja Balawant Singh College, Bichpuri, Agra during Rabi season of 2011-12 to determine the optimum level of phosphorus for obtaining optimum economic yield of chickpea. The level of phosphorus employed at 0, 30, 60 and 90 kg P2O5 ha-1 on three varieties of chickpea viz. Haryana-1, BG-1 and PBG-7 in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. Results showed that the variety Haryana-1 with application of phosphorus @ 60 kg ha-1 gave 32%, 52% and 59% more net returns with benefit:cost ratio of 2.52 than three varieties with blanket application of phosphorus, respectively.
