Enhancement of Growth Parameters of Pisum sativum under the Influence of Indol Butyric Acid

Abstract

An investigation was under taken to study the effect of different concentrations of IBA on various varieties i.e. PRIME 10, VBL 10 and RAPID of pea seeds. We had prepared three different concentrations of IBA i.e. 10, 20 and 50%. All the early seedling growth parameters such as germination percentage, plumule length and radicle length and vigour index were enhanced in treatments in comparison to those seeds which are presoaked in distilled water. All the three varieties were affected by the soaking treatments and the variety PRIME 10 was the best performer and the 20 ppm is the concentration of IBA treatment which had shown the maximum growth.
