Combining Parametric and Non Parametric Measures ForGxe Interaction In Malt Barley Genotypes
Main Article Content
Abstract
Average yield showed wide variation. G6, G4, G22 were high yielders. Regression coefficient equals to one and least deviation from regression S2 di expressed by G6 and G22. Conformity with, low CVi values observed for G24, G2, G4 and G6. Lower value of Pi resulted for G6, G8, G22 and G4. Genotypes G1, G15, G6 and G14 identified for lower values of Wi 2 and variance ( i). GAI found G6, G22, G4 and G8 as desirable genotypes. Measures Si (1)and Si (2)observed less variation in ranks of G6, G2, G9 and G8. Si (3) and Si (6) identified G10, G24, G26 and G15 with lower values. NPi (1) pointed towards G6, G10, G1, G21 and G26. Lowest value of NPi (2), NPi (3) and NPi (4) expressed by G10 G12 G22 and G26. Kang´s measures found G6, G22, G1 and G8 as promising genotypes. Yield expressed significant positive with GAI, bi, Kang while negative with Si (2), Si (6), NPi (2),NPi (3) and NPi (4). Measures Si (2), Si (3), Si (6) showed direct relation with NPi (1),NPi (2),NPi (3) and NPi (4). Worth to mention positive correlation among Si (s)and of NPi (s). Measures CViand S2 xi had expressed only indirect correlation with considered measures. Biplot analysis separated measures into four groups as larger group comprehend NPi (1), i, Si (1), Si (2), Wi 2 , Si (3) while yield consisted with Kang, GAI and bi. Hierarchical cluster analysis of measures classified genotypes were into four clusters and Cluster (II) included the high yielders and stable performer genotypes G6, G8, and G2 by parametric as well as non parametric measures. Ward clustering of GxE interaction measures exhibited group of NPi (2), NPi (3), NPi (4)with Si (6)and Pi. Parametric measures of Wi 2, i joined with Si (1) , Si (2) , Si (3) as well with Kang rank sum measure.
